This looks like a great theme – my question is this: Flash is great for browsers, but doesn’t using it make this theme less desirable since many jquery elements can be seen on mobile devices like the iPhone? If one sacrifices view-ability -what are the benefits for the flash function?

You see, that’s the beauty of WordPress.
You can use a plugin like WPTouch or WordPress Mobile Edition for people viewing your site on mobile devices.
As for Javascript stuff on mobile devices – there are so few devices supporting this, that you’d be providing far better accessibility with a plugin like the ones mentioned above
